Join us to explore a rock platform in one of the Surf Coast’s Marine Protected Areas.
Participants will learn to safely explore the rockpools and find out about some of the amazing adaptations and inter-relationships between animals of the intertidal zone.
You will identify different crabs, spot a seastar and search for some more unusual creatures like anemones, colonial ascidians and barnacles.
Discussion of the importance of marine reserves in monitoring sustainable use of the ocean, and aboriginal uses of the shore environment.
