Our expectations of visiting teachers/ leaders are consistent with the Department of Education & Early Childhood Development’s Safety Guidelines for Education Outdoors 2008, as well as the Adventure Activity Standards 2006 (AAS) developed by the Outdoor Recreation Centre and Victorian Government.

Our general expectations:

Planning activities

• When booking an activity with Eco-Logic we will discuss your educational aims, participant’s clothing requirements, and ask you to provide medical information that may affect our activities

On-site/ during activities

• We expect teachers/ leaders to prepare students for the activity, and ensure that they are dressed appropriately for the activity and weather conditions
• We expect a teacher/ leader to be present with each group of participants to support our staff in the discipline of participants

Roles and Responsibilities of Your Staff
• To appropriately prepare participants for outdoor activities and weather conditions
• To provide one staff member/ adult leader (min 18 years of age) per group of 25 students during activities
• To provide primary discipline to participants and aid Eco-Logic staff with group management
• To have full medical details for all participants on site during the activity
• To provide a first aid kit and take primary responsibility for first aid during sessions, & have a mobile phone
• To take responsibility for non participants
